Position Summary

The Plant Controller for APS and Contract Manufacturing Equipment is responsible for ensuring consistency and transparency in financial reporting for North America Equipment sites as well as oversight and compliance with internal controls. This role will collaborate with Operations Directors along with Commercial Finance and other business partners.  This is a high visibility position, interacting with multiple groups in the organization to support North America Equipment.  

Job Description

  • Monthly Closing duties: Journal entries, Reporting and other ad-hoc to support the monthly close
  • Monthly Forecasting, annual budgeting and annual standard cost setting for direct and indirect costs, inventory and capital
  • Analyze and present monthly Supply Chain financial results to key leaders including commentary, review of actuals and variances versus budget and forecast.
  • Create cost savings analyses in support of cost take out initiatives.
  • Lead the financial review of local site capital projects, including working with company capital system to review and approval capital projects and completion of project make good analysis.
  • Analyze, understand, and explain the reasons for movement in all manufacturing costs including month and year to date comparisons to budget and prior year.
  • Key point of contact for Operations and Commercial Finance Directors.
  • Act as financial advisor for the facilities and liaise with plant management and regional supply chain finance.  
  • Provide accurate and timely ad-hoc analysis and interpretation of data to ensure accurate and actionable plant business decisions. 
  • Provide site leadership and ensure proper controls environment, including 
                  o    Compliance with accounting policies and chart of accounts
                  o    Timely completion of journals, variance analysis and reconciliations
                  o    Evaluate business controls applied to the sites. Work with local management to implement and improve controls as needed.
                  o    SOX compliance testing and documentation
                  o    Certify that all transactions are recorded in line with Corporate Policy & Company Code of Conduct.
                  o    Safeguard all company assets; participate in reviewing asset inventory and utilization.
  • Align with Integrated Business Planning process to produce the monthly financial forecast.
  • Provide ad hoc strategic analysis and scenario planning.
  • Responsibilities are not limited to the above requirements.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Accounting or Finance strongly preferred).  Advanced certifications preferred.
  • 5-7 years relevant finance experience with a background in manufacturing.
  • Must have ERP experience, preferably SAP. Project Systems experience a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Experience with BIA and HFM are a plus.
  • CMA preferred.  Other accounting qualifications may be considered.
  • Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with professional presentation.
  • Must be flexible, innovative, and comfortable in setting own priorities.
  • Strong problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Experience with high volume operations.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
